BASIC INFORMATION<br />

Liverpool Hospital is a fast paced, actively growing<br />

teaching hospital only 35 minutes from central<br />

Sydney on the M5 East. It is an exciting hospital to<br />

work in and study at. Liverpool provides a health<br />

service of international standing, with 23 operating<br />

theatres, capacity for 877 beds, diagnostic and<br />

imaging services, emergency and trauma care,<br />

maternity, paediatric, cancer care, mental health,<br />

ambulatory care, allied health and medical and<br />

surgical services from birth to aged care. It also<br />

provides a range of statewide services in areas of<br />

critical care, trauma, neonatal intensive care and<br />

brain injury rehabilitation.<br />

The facility serves a rapidly increasing population<br />

from diverse cultures, religious and language<br />

backgrounds, making our community vibrant and<br />

exciting.<br />

REASONS TO APPLY<br />

Liverpool Hospital is situated in one of the fastestgrowing<br />

regions within an education and health<br />

precinct which includes the Ingham Institute of<br />

Applied Medical Research, a Clinical Skills and<br />

Simulation Centre and the Clinical Schools of<br />

UNSW and Western Sydney University. Liverpool<br />

Hospital is a principal referral and teaching hospital<br />

with a strong commitment to teaching and<br />

support for its Junior and Resident Medical Staff.<br />

The hospital also has a well-equipped gym and<br />

educational facilities include a well-stocked library<br />

and full access to electronic learning resources.<br />

Liverpool will be undergoing a major redevelopment<br />

with the development of a new Liverpool Health ,<br />

Education, Research and Innovation Precinct.<br />

Tweed Heads, where JMOs may spend a rotation<br />

or two, is situated close to world renowned<br />

beaches and is close to the Gold Coast and<br />

Brisbane. Tweed Hospital provides a friendly,<br />

supportive environment to facilitate learning<br />

and skills development with a positive work/life<br />
