that the Secretary cast one ballot for the election of Chief Graham a,s our First Vice,

SECRETARY O’I--IEARN: I have cast the ballot.
PRESIDENT FORTIER: And I declare Chief George Graham duly elected as our
First Vice-President. (Applause.)
(The Sergeant-at-Arms then. escorted the new.ly elected First Vice-President to
the rostru~ .
FIRST VICE-PRESIDENT GRAHAM: Thank you very much, gentlemen, for the
honor, and I can assure that, God-willing, I w.ill _work to the best of my ability for
the good of the Association, and its. officers, during the coming year.
PRESIDENT FORTIER: Nominations are now open for the office of Second Vice-
President.
EX-CHIEF W. H. CLIFFORD: Mr. President, it gives me a great deal of pleasure
to place in nomination the name of John E. Keefe of Bellows Falls, Vermont, for
the office of Second Vice-President, for the ensuing year.
’CHIEF SCANLON of Lynn: I second that nomination. ,
Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was VOTED: That the Secretary
cast one ballot for the election of Chief Keefe of Bellows Falls, Vermont, for the
once of .Second Vice-President.

after the Secretary had cast the ballot, by the Segrdant.at.Arms.)
SECOND VICE-PRESIDENT KEEFE of Bellows Falls, Vegmont :. Gentlemen, I want
to thank the members of the New England Association of Fire Chiefs, for the honor
which they have bestowed~ upon me and the State of Vermont, and I pledge my support
to the officers and members of this Association during the coming year. (Ap,
plause.)
PRESIDENT FORTIER: We now come to the election of the Secretary-Treasurer.
Whom do you wish to nominate as your Secretary-Treasurer for the ensuing year?
CHIEF SEAMAN Of Wellesley: Mr. President, I should like to put in nomination,
the name of the man who has been with us since the Association was organized. Then
I move that nominations be closed, and that the President cast one ballot for the
election of John W. O’Hearn as our Secretary-Treasurer.
This motion was duly seconded by Chief Graham and others preset.t, and was
carried.
PRESIDENT FORTIER: I have cast the ballot, electing John W. O’Hearn as our
Secretary Treasurer for the ensuing year, and I declare him duly elected to that office.
SECRETARY O’HEARN: Thank you all, men. I am going to carry on as long" as
I can and as long as you want me to. carry on, a r.d I will do the best I can.
It is time, now, to say thanks for what you have done. And let us make the
membership 1,400 next year. It can be done. We have secured 9.8 new members at
