Career Services
Explore Experience Engage
We assist students to explore and plan for their future careers and ensure that they are
professionally developed and career-ready before graduation. Partner with our career advisors
to explore careers and academic majors, obtain valuable hands-on work experience to test
your interests and build your skills, and plan for your career or graduate school journey after
graduation.
Career Exploration
Our advising staff is available to assist students and alumni who are making decisions and exploring
different career paths or academic majors. We offer services including personalized advising, careerrelated
assessments, and resources to help you research career options that fit your interests, skills,
values, personality, and abilities.
Cooperative Education and Internships
Participation in the Cooperative Education (Co-op) and Internship Program provides many
benefits and is an opportunity for students to gain professional competencies in their chosen
career fields. Students increase their knowledge and expand their professional experience while
pursuing their education. Co-op and Internship students obtain exposure to the structure and
operations of an organization. Students can apply their academic knowledge in a real-world
setting, solidify career goals, and build an ongoing network of professional contacts. These
experiences enhance subsequent academic work and place the student in a favorable position
for employment after graduation. Co-op students participate in alternating work sessions and
full-time course study. Internship students participate in one or more semesters in which they
explore professional experiences related to their major.
In addition to the Co-op and Internship Program, Career Services assists students seeking
internships for academic credit and works closely with academic departments, employers, and
internship site coordinators.
