<strong>Cologne</strong> is a trade fair centre<br />
Around 44,000 exhibiting companies from 120 countries and 2.5 million visitors come to<br />
Koelnmesse each year, the world’s fifth largest trade fair and exhibition site (284,000 m 2 exhibition<br />
area, 100,000 m² outdoor area). With the slogan “We energize your business”, Koeln messe<br />
organises over 70 specialised trade fairs and exhibitions in Germany and abroad. In 2010, these<br />
specialists were responsible for the German pavilion at the Shanghai Expo.<br />
The trade fairs here are more international than anywhere else in the world – this makes <strong>Cologne</strong> an<br />
important trading location. On average, more than 60 % of exhibitors and over one-third of visitors<br />
come from abroad. Hosting such events as Anuga, imm cologne, photokina and ISM, Koelnmesse is<br />
the world’s leading trade fair organiser for around 25 industries, with representative offices in over 80<br />
countries. <strong>Cologne</strong> and the entire region benefit from the market-specific expertise that comes with<br />
