The trade fair ground is situated just ten minutes’ walk from the city centre. Instead of taking a
car or a train, many trade fair visitors prefer to take the shortcut over the Rhine bridge and enjoy
the splendid view of the cathedral or the full panorama of the Rhine. With the trade fair site’s ideal
transport connections – the inter-city railway station on the doorstep, via which Cologne/Bonn
Airport and the nearby city centre can be reached in just a few minutes – the visitor is met with an
intelligent thought out infrastructure network.
Cologne is centrally located because of its geographic position within Europe and its excellent connections
to important German and European road and rail networks. Most event locations in Cologne
are also easy to reach because of their central locations – almost half of them lie within a 2 km
radius of the main railway station. The lovely old town, the most important museums, the Opera,
the Philharmonie, Rheinpark, MediaPark and all large and small shopping streets are all within
walking distance.
Cologne is also an event city, because it has so many impressive venues and locations. Alongside
the classic convention centres and attractive meeting rooms in hotels, there are venues relating to
the city’s history, for example the famous Gürzenich, the arsenal or the Wolkenburg. Events can

the ships on the Rhine – inter alia the event ship MS RheinEnergie – and locations at the river offer
a very special atmosphere for events.
Nearly 160 venues are on offer with around 1,000 rooms for any size of event. Events with a large
number of attendees will find all the space they need in the convention centres, the LANXESS arena
or in the Staatenhaus at the Rheinpark. There is also a wide selection of options for smaller events.
