Here at the Cologne Convention Bureau, on behalf of the City of Cologne, we are your independent
partner for events in the cathedral city. As the official umbrella organisation for different aspects of
the events business, it is our task within the Cologne Tourist Board to consolidate Cologne’s position
as a significant convention city on an international scale. Our team will put their many years of
experience at your disposal and offer friendly assistance and organisational expertise. It is our aim
to ensure that your event and congress achieves maximum success.
In Cologne the market for congress and event venues consists of 159 businesses and is spread over
20 congress centres, 56 conference hotels and 83 event locations. This includes all indoor event
venues with 50 seats and more in the biggest hall. In total, congress and event guests in Cologne
have a choice of almost 151,500 seats in 964 different function rooms. These are the findings of
the “2010 Congress Barometer” – a study carried out on behalf of the CCB by the European Institute
for the Meetings Industry (Europäisches Institut für TagungsWirtschaft GmbH).
To support the national and international marketing of Cologne as a meeting and conference
destination, CCB is an active member of the following associations:
German Convention Bureau (GCB)
Since 1973, the GCB has worked to bring conventions and conferences to Germany.
International Congress & Convention Association (ICCA)
The ICCA, formed in 1963, is one of the best-known organisations in the international convention
business. With members in over 70 countries, ICCA is one of the most important associations in the
event and meeting industry.
