The name <strong>of</strong> BLAW, azure, a saltier argent, and, on a chief or, three cushions<br />

gules : It is said that the first <strong>of</strong> this name was Johnston, who killed a man with<br />

a blow, for which being obliged to abscond, and change his name, he took that <strong>of</strong><br />

Blaw.<br />
