In recent times, the Croatian Ship building industry has offered a number of original ideas to customers
around the world who have ordered ships for various purposes.
Croatia’s maritime diversity allows engagement in various activities. It offers its picturesque and rich coast
and island coves for the hotel industry, sport and recreation, in addition to traditional fishery and mariculture,
as well as exploitation of the mineral resources of our sea bed.
Particular attention is given to the protection of the Adriatic region from any pollution, so that it may continue
to be offered to the world tourist market, whose discriminating audience has accorded it the well-
deserved title of “the most beautiful sea in the world”.
Croatia’s area is actually twice as big than it may seem at first glance, owing to its territorial waters. This
is its relative advantage and an additional spiritual dimension for its inhabitants, who are proud of the Croatian
sea and have been calling it “mare nostrum Croaticum” since ancient times.
Shipbuilding
Living as they do by the sea, with the sea and from the sea, the
people of the Croatian Adriatic coast have necessarily had to master
the technology of shipbuilding. The centuries of shipbuilding continuity are reflected in the high quality of
technical solutions designed by Croatia’s shipbuilders, who also play a major role in international circles.
The linchpin of the Croatian shipbuilding industry development and production are experts, trained at institutions
of higher education and professional schools that guarantee high quality.
Today, the Croatian shipbuilding industry comprises:
