After some guileless attorney, studied in the medi-<br />

in the practice of criminal law, some doctor or some<br />

member of the family had gotten these two Smart<br />

Alecs and had trained and prepared them and<br />

told them what to tell the doctors and what not<br />

to tell them, then they bring out these doctors<br />

and say: " Now, go in and listen to that story<br />

and if, after you listen to the story they tell you,<br />

you don't think they are crazy, then you must be<br />

crazy."<br />

untold stories, but the patient says he will not tell<br />

What are these untold stories? <strong>The</strong>y were not<br />

going to lie in order to fool the doctors, so that the<br />

doctors could fool your Honor. No. <strong>The</strong>y were<br />

perfectly frank. As Dr. White said: "<strong>The</strong>y didn't<br />

lie to me and they wouldn't lie to a man as smart as<br />

I am." <strong>The</strong>y had no thought when they were talk-<br />

ing to the doctors as to their defense in this <strong>case</strong>,<br />

none whatever. <strong>The</strong>y might as a result of a childish<br />

phantasy murder little Bobby Franks as they wan-<br />

dered along in the dark, but God forbid that they<br />
