Unit 2
Project 1 A New Students Brochure
Propósito : Proporcionar a los alumnos nuevos información
importante que necesitarán en el futuro.
Preparación : Lea el título del proyecto y explique que su
objetivo es hacer un folleto acerca de su escuela. Lea las
instrucciones con los alumnos.
Step 1: Pida a los alumnos que formen equipos. Otorgue una hora
para que recaben información acerca de su escuela para hacer
el folleto.
Step 2: Asigne tiempo para que los alumnos organicen
individualmente la información y escriban sus folletos.
Step 3: Asigne tiempo durante la clase para que los alumnos
diseñen e ilustren sus folletos.
Step 4: Asigne tiempo durante la clase para que los alumnos
completen sus folletos. Revíselos y asegúrese de producir
sufi cientes para que cada alumno nuevo tenga una copia.
Project 2 A Visitors Brochure
Propósito: Elaborar un folleto para visitantes de su comunidad.
Preparación: Lea el título del proyecto y las instrucciones con los
alumnos.
Step 1: Pida a los alumnos que formen equipos. Asegúrese de que
todos tengan algo que hacer.
Step 2: Asigne tiempo para que los alumnos escriban
individualmente su folleto con la información que recabaron.
Step 3: Asigne tiempo para que los alumnos diseñen e ilustren
individualmente sus folletos.
Step 4: Evaluar folletos.
Sugiera a los alumnos que revisen los trabajos de sus portfolios
regularmente y que verifi quen la ortografía y el signifi cado de
palabras con las que no estén familiarizados. Asimismo, sugiera
que usen conectores que hayan aprendido recientemente para
formar oraciones cada vez más largas y complejas.

rules, clubs, etc.
Step 2: Writing
• Organize your information into sections for
your brochure.
• Write helpful information for each section.
Step 3: Illustration
• Find or draw pictures to illustrate each
section of the brochure.
• Design the pages of the brochure with the
text and the illustrations.
Step 4: Presentation
• Write a welcome note for new students.
• Decide on a title for your brochure and
design a title page.
• Set up a stand in your school to distribute
your brochures.
Read and revise work in your portfolio.
Here are some things to consider.
• Check spelling.
• Check the meaning of unfamiliar words in
your dictionary.
• Use linking devices to connect your
sentences.
Step 1: Research
• Make a list of categories about your
community: rules, road safety, public
transportation, entertainment, services, etc.
• Research helpful information for each
category: rules, maps, illustrations, etc.
• Assign diff erent categories to diff erent
team members.
Step 2: Writing
• Use the information you researched to write
advice, tips, and rules for your category.
Step 3: Illustration
• Find or draw pictures to illustrate each
category in the brochure.
• Design the pages of the brochure with the
text and the illustrations.
Step 4: Presentation
• Write a welcome note for visitors.
• Design a title page for your brochure.
• Present your brochure to the school library.
