Applications • La distribution normale est utilisée lorsque le phénomène aléatoire subit l’influence de nombreuses causes indépendantes et très petites. On verra plus tard une utilisation importante dans le théorème limite central. • La distribution normale peut être utilisée comme approximation de beaucoup d’autres distributions. Par exemple, lorsque n∞ la distribution binomiale tend vers une distribution normale avec µ=np et σ 2 =npq. On obtient un intervalle en ajoutant et en enlevant 0.5 à la valeur de x.
