Introduzione Le normative sempre più specifiche e la necessità di avere degli strumenti in grado di dare la massima affidabilità riguardo ai problemi richiesti, spingono spesso l’utente a utilizzare i programmi si simulazione. Di seguito viene presentata una lista con i programmi di simulazione riguardanti l’energetica degli edifici più usati in assoluto, cioè i programmi con il maggior numero di utenti, ricavati dal sito web http://apps1.eere.energy.gov/buildings/tools_directory/. I programmi sono in ordine alfabetico e sono classificati in relazione al tipo di simulazione che svolgono: • sistema edifico-impianto, cioè un programma che valuta l’interazione tra l’edificio e l’insieme degli impianti al suo interno, per restituire in output il consumo energetico dell’edificio; • singole parti del sistema, cioè un programma che analizza in maniera specifica solo una parte del sistema (tipo ponti termici, serramenti, solare, …). Ogni programma di simulazione è presentato nel seguente modo: • una parte introduttiva che spiega nel complesso alcune caratteristiche del programma; • il tipo di esperienza richiesta per usare il programma; • il numero di utenti che usano il programma; • le categorie a cui è rivolto il simulatore; • gli input richiesti dal programma e gli output restituiti in uscita; • il tipo di piattaforma hardware/software necessaria per installare il programma; • il linguaggio di programmazione adottato per compilare il simulatore; • punti di forza e punti deboli del programma.

Simulatori sistema edificio-impianto 1.2.1. 3E Plus 7 Doc.No 20100610.SIMEA.MR.03 Versione 1 Industrial energy management tool to simplify the task of determining how much insulation is necessary to use less energy, reduce plant emissions and improve process efficiency. The 3E Plus insulation thickness computer program is designed for facility managers, energy/environmental managers, industrial process engineers, and the industrial industry, the program is a valuable tool for determining the return on investment of an insulation upgrade on pipes, ducts, tanks, and boilers. 3E Plus is an integral part of several private sector and government-sponsored energy efficiency programs. It is featured in the National Insulation Association's (NIA) Insulation Energy Appraisal Program (IEAP). The IEAP provides detailed instruction on how to use 3E Plus as well as how to perform a complete energy appraisal on pipes and ducts. The Department of Energy also used 3E Plus to develop its Industrial Insulation Guidelines. 1.2.1.1. Expertise Required No training is required to use 3E Plus, but many users do find it helpful to attend a training session through the National Insulation Association (NIA) which walks users through the program. 1.2.1.2. Users More than 6000 downloads, mostly in the US. Upcoming metric version will be more useful worldwide. 1.2.1.3. Audience Facility managers, energy/environmental managers, industrial process engineers 1.2.1.4. Input Input to 3E Plus is all done through pull down menus or forms in a clearly marked graphical user interface. To use 3E Plus, be prepared to input specific data about the system being analyzed for an insulation upgrade, including base metal type, various process and operating temperatures, wind speed, pipe sizes, surface geometry, fuel type, annual operation hours and the type of insulation under consideration. 1.2.1.5. Output 3E Plus simplifies the task of determining how much insulation is necessary to use less energy, reduce plant emissions and improve process efficiency. The program is a valuable tool for determining the return on investment of an insulation upgrade on pipes, ducts, tanks, and boilers. Output comes in preformatted reports, and can be exported to spreadsheets designed by NAIMA for further analysis. 1.2.1.6. Computer Platform PCs running Windows. 1.2.1.7.
