The Loacker family has been making wines using organic vineyard practices since 1979,
making founder Rainer Loacker one of Italy’s organic winemaking pioneers. Since 2000 all
three Loacker estates have been successfully following a strict protocol of biodynamic and
homeopathic treatments in the vineyard and cellar:
Loacker Schwarhof in Bolzano – Bozen / Alto Adige – South Tyrol
Loacker Corte Pavone in Montalcino / Toscana – Tuscany
Loacker Valdifalco in the Maremma region / Toscana – Tuscany
At Summa13, Loacker will present both current vintages and aged treasures from their
Montalcino estate Corte Pavone. Since taking over the estate in 1996, these wines’ successes
have already been ensuring Loacker a place in the history books. Their Brunello with
Loacker’s individual and – most importantly – traditional style has received top ratings and
rave reviews from the most important critics in the field. The Brunello di Montalcino is a
strictly biodynamic wine. The viticulture of this 17ha estate is focusing on strengthening soil
and vines through the use of biodynamic preparations, such as 500 and 501.
In addition, various other treatments are used to support the vines’ health and a balanced
ecosystem: Homeopathic remedies, microorganisms to strengthen the vine’s immune
defense, and cover crops to enrich the soil with nitrogen, while also activating and stimulating
