started between Turkistan and Siberia. All
Soviet republics supported the construction
of this line called “Turk-Sib”. In order to
introduce this railway to many people, it
was decided to make a feature documentary
film about the line. The film was produced
in Vostokkino’s branch in Almaty. A quite
interesting and long film was made, and it
was named after “Turk-Sib”. This film was
displayed in different cinemas around the
world and recorded in the Soviet documentary
film archive in gold letters.
Finally a documentary film studio was
established in Almaty in 1934. First productions
of this studio were “Cambul-Ata”,
“Kazakhstan’s Treasure”, “Reviving Desert”.
From this date, leaders of Kazakh documentary
film industry published the first issue
of “Soviet Kazakhstan” film magazine. Filmlovers
showed great interest in this magazine
and then the producers decided to
make 4 talking and 2 silent movies every
month.

uyarlanmasıydı. Filmin ismi de romanın
ismi ile aynı oldu.
Çöllerin Şarkısı, Djüt, Nefret, Düşmanın
İzleri gibi filmlerden sonra 1938 yılında
“Lenfilm” stüdyosunda yönetmen M.Levin
tarafından devrim tarihi türünde
“Amangeldi” isimli kahramanlık filmi yapıldı.
Bu filmin en önemli özelliği Kazakistan sineması
tarihinde ilk sesli film olmasıdır.
Şubat 1939’da Kazakistan Komünist Partisi ve
Halk Maarif Komiserliği, Kazakistan’ın edebiyat
ve kültür alanında geliştirilmesi ile ilgili
bir yasa kabul etti. Bu yasada aynı zamanda
Kazakistan’da sinemanın gelişimi için yerli
halk içinden senaryo yazarlarının, yönetmenlerin,
kameramanların yetiştirilmesi ve uzun
metrajlı filmler üreten bir stüdyonun Alma-
Ata şehrinde kurulması öngörülüyordu.

Dünya Savaşı’na kadar olan kısmını inceledik.
Önümüzdeki sayıda 1.Dünya Savaşı sonrası
dönemde sinemanın gelişimine ışık tutmaya
çalışacağız.

The cinema industry of the Soviet
Kazakhstan was established in 1929. Like all
other cinemas in the world, they produced
documentaries in the first year of establishment,
but Kazakh film makers wanted to
make feature films in addition to documentaries.
Thus, a film was made about
Kazakhstan in 1929 by Vostokkino. This film
was an adaptation of well-known Russian
author D. Furmanov’s novel “Riot”. The film
had the same name with the novel.
Following the films Song of the Deserts,
Djut, Hate, Traces of the Enemy, the
“Lenfilm” studio made a film on the history
of revolution in 1938, called “Amangeldi”.
The film has an important place in Kazakh
cinema as it is the first talking movie of the
industry.
Kazakhstan Communist Party and the
People’s Commissariat for Education adopted
a law on the development of literature
and culture of Kazakhstan in February 1939.
This law was about supporting new scriptwriters,
directors and cameramen within
the national community, and the establishment
of a feature film studio in Almaty.
We looked through the history of the
Kazakh cinema until the World War I. We
will focus on the development of the film
industry in Kazakhstan after the World War.
