gray (10YR 4/1) dry; weak fine and medium
granular structure; friable; common very fine roots;
common distinct black (N 2.5/0) organic coatings
on faces of peds and in pores; neutral; clear
smooth boundary.
A—5 to 12 inches; black (10YR 2/1) silty clay loam,
dark grayish brown (10YR 4/2) dry; moderate fine
and medium subangular blocky structure parting
to weak fine granular; friable; common very fine
roots; few distinct black (N 2.5/0) organic coatings
on faces of peds and in pores; 1 percent gravel;
neutral; abrupt smooth boundary.
Bt1—12 to 16 inches; dark yellowish brown (10YR
4/4) silty clay loam; moderate medium subangular
blocky structure; friable; common very fine roots;
common distinct dark grayish brown (2.5Y 4/2)
clay films on faces of peds and in pores; few

faces of peds and in pores; common fine and
medium strong brown (7.5YR 4/6) very weakly
