527D3—Kidami clay loam, 6 to 12 percent
slopes, severely eroded
Setting
Landform: Moraines and till plains
Position on the landform: Backslopes
Slope range: 6 to 12 percent
A typical soil series description with range in
characteristics is included, in alphabetical order, in this
section. Additional information specific to this map unit,
such as horizon depth and textures, is available in the
“Soil Properties” section in Part II of this publication.
Composition
Kidami and similar soils: 85 percent
Dissimilar soils: 15 percent
Similar soils:
• soils that are moderately eroded
• soils that have slopes of less than 6 percent or
more than 12 percent
• soils that have carbonates at a depth of less than
20 inches
• soils that have a seasonal high water table at a
depth of more than 3.5 feet
Dissimilar soils:
• calcareous soils in positions on the landform similar
to those of the Kidami soil
• the somewhat poorly drained Herbert and Lisbon
soils in the lower positions on the landform
• the poorly drained Pella soils in drainageways
Management
