My work <strong>is</strong> inspired by the lovely scenery of the Galloway Hills and Solway<br />
Coast, its numerous monuments and built heritage, and the wonderful<br />
quality of light. In recent years, I have been been increasingly focussing on<br />
landscape and seascape, often featuring patterns of sunlight and shadow<br />
on masonry, stones or rocks, contrasted with the soft textures and varied<br />
seasonal colours of vegetation. V<strong>is</strong>itors will see work in progress using waterthinned<br />
acrylics. Completed paintings, prints and greetings cards will be on<br />
d<strong>is</strong>play and <strong>available</strong> for purchase.<br />

Colour, textiles, d<strong>is</strong>tressed patterns and shapes are what excites me and<br />
my paintings are contemporary interpretations of the landscape and<br />
coastline surrounding my recent move to Kirkcudbright, as well as my<br />
journeys in Europe and Morocco. Images and sketchbooks emerge as I<br />
search for information/ideas that will remind me of something more than<br />
a representational inspiration. I work in acrylics and mixed media, with<br />
textured surfaces and strong colours to achieve the effect I seek. V<strong>is</strong>itors<br />
will see colourful work, including prints and cards. Exhibition follows.<br />
