My paintings are loose, colourful, energetic and generally landscapes.<br />
My work <strong>is</strong> often inspired by fields and fences, wind and weather and coastal<br />
v<strong>is</strong>its. I enjoy experimenting with colour and trying out new techniques.<br />
I work in acrylic on canvas in all sizes. I will have a “shed sale” of older work<br />
and other bits and pieces. Afternoon tea and home baking will be served in<br />
the conservatory (or garden) each day from 2pm-5pm.<br />
directions: From Thornhill head north on A76. After 2 miles at Carronbridge take<br />
the A702 towards Edinburgh. After 3 miles look for the sign indicating a right turn<br />
to Dur<strong>is</strong>deer. On entering Dur<strong>is</strong>deer leave your car in the square and walk beyond<br />
the church. Ferndale Studio <strong>is</strong> first on your left.<br />

With large rotund forms and vibrant colours and glazes, my d<strong>is</strong>tinctive take<br />
makes for ceramics which exude style and personality. I continue to explore<br />
and experiment with glazes, colour and painting forms, and use various<br />
firing techniques including stoneware, Raku and smoke-firing to glaze and<br />
fire a pot. I am planning a Raku demonstration in the beechwood garden<br />
on Saturday and Sunday afternoon, glazing and firing a large pot. I will also<br />
provide an opportunity for v<strong>is</strong>itors to glaze and fire a pot.<br />
directions: Take the A702 from Thornhill towards Moniaive. At Penpont turn right<br />
opposite the Post Office. After 2 miles, turn left at a triangle. After another 2 miles,<br />
turn right at a T-junction by Druidhall Farm. Continue for 1 1/2 miles, Goukthorn<br />
Cottage <strong>is</strong> on the left at the next junction.<br />
