My studio is situated in a beautiful part of Galloway set within the historical
backdrop of Neilson’s Monument. I work in both watercolour and oils. I love
painting flowers using watercolour as a starting point and incorporating
other media as I go along to create random effects. My work in oils is
representational, using the local landscape as inspiration and a limited
palette to express drama and atmosphere. Visitors will see a variety of
work on show and I look forward to welcoming you to my studio.
directions: Travelling on the A75 from either Dumfries or Stranraer, turn into
Ringford village. Take the A762 (New Galloway) road, continue along this road
for about one and a quarter miles, my studio is on the right hand side just before
Barstobrick Visitor Centre.

From Neilson’s coffee shop you can walk up to the monument which was
erected in memory of James Beaumont Neilson inventor of the hot blast
furnace. Well worth the climb for the views and the wildlife.

I love Dumfries and Galloway and I love photography. My artistic goal is to
capture the moods, faces and glories of this special, hidden and beautiful
region. My fine art and landscape image creativity and career in the arts are
evolving, changing and hopefully improving as I consider new challenges and
new ideas. Visitors can expect a lot of warmth, a lot of emotion and a lot of
images in a range of both contemporary and traditional styles to suit every

directions: From Castle Douglas take the A713 north, after 1.5 miles turn left
(signposted Laurieston B795) travel three miles to Laurieston village through the
Stewartry countryside. At crossroads travel onto the C13 Gatehouse-of-Fleet
road and the Gallery is on the right after 100 yards.
