I’ve been incorporating new colours, combinations and designs into
my glasswork this year. The Glass Meadows wall installation will be a
centrepiece once more, I use the techniques of fusing, draping, slumping
and sandblasting glass to create the different designs that will be on display
throughout the studio in the form of many decorative and functional objects.
I am also experimenting with a new design process, creating draped pendant
lampshades. These will add an extra dimension to the glass on display.
directions: From the A75 take the A711 into Kirkcudbright until it becomes
St Mary Street. Pass the church on your right and tennis courts on your left and
then take a right on to the High Street. Wasps studios are 20 yards up on your
right hand side.

Visitors will see a wide variety of work in different media. Colour motivates
me into action and this is reflected in my paintings, collages and lively
sculptural jewellery, which I hand-cut from giant balloons or ultra-violet
latex. They are big, colourful, joyful, lightweight pieces and great fun to
wear. I have also been developing a series of terracotta sculptures based
on my experiences of Motherhood. The gestures have been changing from
Carrying and Holding to Letting Go. What started from the very personal
has developed into a shared universal experience.

Arms Hotel. The studios are situated in 2 buildings which have a glass link. My
studio is right at the top, in Cannonwalls.
