My work <strong>is</strong> based on a love of collections, whether in a junk shop, a curiosity<br />
cabinet or jewellery box. Curios are collated by an individual according to<br />
their own unique experiences and understanding of the pieces. For the<br />
viewer, these sometimes unusual combinations of objects can throw up more<br />
questions than answers. Th<strong>is</strong> ambiguity only intrigues me further and to me<br />
encourages an imagined abstract narrative. When translating these ideas<br />
into my jewellery I incorporate the shapes, textures and often collected<br />
objects themselves. <strong>The</strong>se juxtapositions create balance, elevating these<br />
unconventionally beautiful items.<br />
directions: From Dumfries bypass take A76 north, signposted Kilmarnock.<br />
At Holywood village take B729, left, signposted Dunscore, Moniaive. At Nether<br />
Gribton Farm, take left fork, signposted Newtonairds. After 3 miles, and long<br />
avenue of trees, turn right at Newtonairds Lodge. Follow driveway, bearing right,<br />
to stable house at top.<br />

Sculpture, Pottery, Paintings, Drawings. My work <strong>is</strong> mostly inspired by the<br />
human form, contemporary dance/theatre and ancient mythologies. I work<br />
from tabletop size to life size in clay and cast into bronze and cold cast iron<br />
and bronze resin. Some of my sculpture <strong>is</strong> suitable for outside. Drawings and<br />
paintings are in a variety of mediums, on canvas and paper. <strong>The</strong> pottery <strong>is</strong><br />
decorated earthenware. <strong>The</strong>re will be both work in progress and fin<strong>is</strong>hed<br />
work on d<strong>is</strong>play.<br />
directions: My studio <strong>is</strong> at Laurieston House. 11 miles northwest of Dumfries on<br />
the B729 in the hamlet of Wallaceton which <strong>is</strong> between Dunscore and Moniavie.<br />
I am just up off th<strong>is</strong> road, follow the <strong>Spring</strong> <strong>Fling</strong> signs and the big blue and white<br />
jug signs to <strong>The</strong> Pottery.<br />

scrummy cakes! Laurieston House Pottery (11). See an Aladdins cave of unique<br />

Shackleton.<br />
