Shimmering and translucent seas in my “Sea Spirit” oil paintings, and<br />
Galloway landscapes under the remarkable huge skies that leave such strong<br />
impressions: these are the main themes v<strong>is</strong>itors will see th<strong>is</strong> year, also some<br />
variety of approach. I am also unveiling a collection of 12 small paintings,<br />
based on local coastline from Kirkandrews to Carrick Bay, culminating in a<br />
large painting from Carrick viewpoint, accompanied by sketches and photos<br />
done along the way, and maps showing locations. “Take-away Picnic” maps<br />
are <strong>available</strong> for v<strong>is</strong>itors to enjoy the actual locations.<br />

the clock tower on lower end of King St. (main shopping street), where it crosses<br />
St. Andrews St. (the A713 to Ayr /B736 to Auchencairn.)<br />

It’s all change th<strong>is</strong> year! I am holding <strong>Spring</strong> <strong>Fling</strong> at my home at<br />
Lochdougan, just along the road from my farm studio. V<strong>is</strong>itors will enjoy<br />
seeing my work in the natural setting of an old Scott<strong>is</strong>h farmhouse with its<br />
quirky mix of old and new. Painting <strong>is</strong> becoming more styl<strong>is</strong>ed and cottages<br />
still appear! I am still using ink and bamboo, but oils are becoming more<br />
vibrant. V<strong>is</strong>itors will also enjoy our small collection of 20th c contemporary<br />
art, all with accompanying information. Children are invited to ‘spot the<br />
spots’ Prizes for all!<br />
directions: From A75 take the turn to Rhonehouse. Turn left in village (Craig Terr)<br />
then 1/4 mile further on turn right . Lochdougan House <strong>is</strong> 2 miles along on the right<br />
up tree lined avenue. From Kirkcudbright or Gelston take B727 until you see sign for<br />
Rhonehouse.<br />
