Question : The government has allocated $1 m for the “Feasibility study for contracting
out road maintenance to private sector in the form of Public Private Partnership
and drafting standard Public Private Partnership contract”. However, the
allocation has not been used. Please inform the Council of the reason and the
schedule of progress.

Reply : The allocation was granted on 2 December 2002. The government is selecting
the appropriate consultant for the feasibility study. The study is anticipated to
commence in April 2003 and to be completed in November 2003.
