Among the matters requiring special attention in 2003-04, the Marine
Department will improve the general environment of the China Ferry Terminal
(CFT) and Macau Ferry Terminal (MFT). What are the details? What
resources will be involved?

We will undertake the following measures in 2003-04 to improve the general
environment of the two ferry terminals –
renew all the seats in the passenger waiting areas;
revamp all the signage for guiding passengers and complete the
replacement of the public address and closed-circuit television systems for
improvement of crowd control;
renovate the interior walls and wall mountings at MFT;
renew escalators at CFT; and
refurbish passenger boarding facilities at the berths.
About $28 million will be involved.
