Question : What is the number of persons employed as non-civil service contract staff in
2002-03 and the expenditure involved? Is there any plan to increase or
decrease the number of non-civil service contract staff in 2003-04? If there is,
please give the reasons for the increase or decrease, and the number of persons
and the expenditure involved?

Reply : Works Branch employs a total of nine non-civil service contract (NCSC) staff in the year
2002-03 and the provision involved is $1.3 million. The Branch is planning to maintain
the same number of NCSC staff in 2003-04.
