union of Christendom. But an Apostle has<br />

reminded us that we cannot expect to accom<br />

plish any work for GOD if we are not prepared,<br />

in some way or other, to suffer persecution for<br />

it. This was keenly felt by Cardinal Wiseman<br />

when he first broke ground on the subject of<br />

He-union twenty-five years ago and those who<br />

have since entered into his labours will discern<br />

an almost prophetic force in the words he used<br />
