The heavy conversion process of this refinery is designed for<br />

processing heavier crudes produced nearby and selling fuels and<br />

lighter products that meet strict specifications and are mainly<br />

intended for export. The refinery will also be integrated with<br />

petrochemical units.<br />

In Africa, the Group has minority stakes in five refineries in South<br />

Africa, Senegal, Côte d’Ivoire, Cameroon and Gabon.<br />

Downstream 2<br />

In the French West Indies, the Group has a 50% stake in the<br />

<strong>com</strong>pany Société Anonyme de la Raffinerie des Antilles (SARA),<br />

which owns a refinery in Martinique.<br />

In China, TOTAL has a 22.4% stake in the WEPEC refinery, located<br />

in Dalian, in partnership with Sinochem and PetroChina.<br />
