diction, also explained, with the first, second,

Cathedral of Monreale in Sicily the attitude is the
same as in Fig. 107 though six centuries later,
and twelve centuries later than Fig. 136. Although
this position of the hand is that usually assigned to
Him, it is by no means restricted to the Second
Person, for there are several instances where the
Almighty Father is shown in this attitude, and, further,
the Holy Spirit is portrayed in human form with the
right hand raised in this gesture '^'^'^
