BAC (Blood Alcohol Content or Concentration; also Blood Alcohol<br />
Level). The percentage of alcohol in the blood system expressed<br />
:n tne ratlo of grams of alcohol per 100 milliliters of blood.<br />

Career. A c:areer is defined as all creditable service towards<br />
retirement, to include all periods of service, regardless of<br />

Chain of Custody. Process by which the integrity of a<br />
~rinalysls sample is maintained from collection through testing<br />

Continuing Care. A phase of treatment designed to provide<br />

Continuum of Care. The alcohol treatment model used by the U.S.<br />
<strong>Navy</strong> and other military treatment providers. Period of<br />
-reatment dries and may occur in a variety of settings. The<br />
ndsic phllqsophy is to place patients in the least intensive or<br />
restr~ctlv? treatment environment commensurate with the severity<br />
>f their needs. Patients can be moved to more or less intensive<br />
-reatnent dcring the treatment phase as their needs change or<br />
:~roblems are identified. The continuum of care is generally<br />
