The Director of the FACTORY [FABRIKA][i] and STEPFATHER<br />

[OTChIM][ii] leave by air on the morning of the 10th. There are no<br />

instructions as yet about getting ZARE[iii] a seat on the plane.<br />

ZARE is nervous.<br />

Comments: [i] FABRIKA: AMTORG – the Soviet Trade Organisation in the<br />

U.S.A. At this date the head of AMTORG was<br />

[iii] ZARE: Elena Konstantinovna GORBUNOVA. Cf. S/NBF/T78,<br />

in which MAJ stated on 27 May 1944 that ZARE had asked<br />

to be sent home at once.<br />

On 12 June 1944 MAJ in<strong>for</strong>med VICTOR that ZARE would be<br />

Going to PORTLAND on 15th July, and that DAR would<br />

notify MOSCOW of the ship and sailing date [unpublished<br />

text, external serial No. 982, internal serial No. 502].<br />
