Weaknesses<br />

• Limited time in <strong>the</strong> curriculum in relation to <strong>the</strong> extent <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> material.<br />

• Some difficulties to integrate all <strong>the</strong> morphological disciplines histology,<br />

systematical anatomy and topographical anatomy in chronological order<br />

in a too short time (first year).<br />

4. Describe <strong>the</strong> innovations in your teaching.<br />

• Innovation <strong>of</strong> teaching process has become possible mainly with using all<br />

possibilities <strong>of</strong> multimedia.<br />

• The multimedia projectors for lectures and practical works.<br />

• Using <strong>the</strong> CD-ROM based interactive learning.<br />

• With <strong>the</strong> modern equipment in <strong>the</strong> new biomedicum building new health<br />

protecting equipment in <strong>the</strong> dissection process has been applied - preparation<br />

tables with ventilation, modern and more toxic solutions for cadavers<br />

embalm etc.<br />

• Collection <strong>of</strong> confidential data for donation has been created.<br />

5. <strong>Name</strong> <strong>the</strong> factors which most disturb teaching (excluding financial resources).<br />

Limited time in relation to <strong>the</strong> great extent <strong>of</strong> material to be studied. A freshman<br />

must learn <strong>the</strong> whole anatomical and histological terminology, thousand<br />

<strong>of</strong> new Latin words which will serve him through his entire medical study and<br />

future career.<br />

Freshmen need more emphasises on self-regulation <strong>of</strong> learning, <strong>the</strong> independent<br />

learning has to be organised more constructively, <strong>the</strong>y are not able to<br />

use textbooks in foreign languages.<br />

The textbooks <strong>of</strong> anatomy are not available for everyone in university library<br />

due to small editions.<br />

II. EVALUATION OF TEACHING<br />

6. How is <strong>the</strong> quality <strong>of</strong> teaching in your department evaluated? How are <strong>the</strong><br />

content and <strong>the</strong> modes <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> teaching changed on <strong>the</strong> basis <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> evaluation?<br />

The good atmosphere between <strong>the</strong> teachers and students has always been<br />

<strong>the</strong>re which allows good and direct feedback during and after <strong>the</strong> lectures and<br />

practical works. Anonymous questionnaire organised by <strong>the</strong> University, medical<br />

faculty and students’ level, evaluating <strong>the</strong> teaching and teachers.<br />

The change <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> content and <strong>the</strong> modes <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> teaching on <strong>the</strong> basis <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />

evaluation.<br />

The evaluation has helped us immediately to react to <strong>the</strong> needs and improve<br />

<strong>the</strong> work. Arrange our teaching program on <strong>the</strong> level <strong>of</strong> our possibilities. During<br />
