Table 7.29 shows the results in terms of effects of the logistic regression aiming at<br />

explaining the 90-day complication rate (any). Without adjusting for case-mix, a 10%<br />

<strong>volume</strong> increase is associated with a neglible <strong>de</strong>crease in the odds of complication of -<br />

0.63% (-3.37%, 2.11%). Males pres<strong>en</strong>t better odds than female pati<strong>en</strong>ts and the Charlson<br />

score does influ<strong>en</strong>ce the complication rate.<br />
