6.5 Setup for different debuggers (CFI flash)
The J-Link flash download and flash breakpoints features can be used by different
debuggers, such as IAR Embedded Workbench and GDB. The setup for using flash
download and flash breakpoints with external CFI-compliant NOR flash is different
from the setup for internal flash. In this section the setup for CFI-compliant NOR
flash is described.
6.5.1 IAR Embedded Workbench / Keil MDK
Using the J-Link flash download and flash breakpoints features with the IAR Embedded
Workbench is quite simple:
First, start the debug session and open the J-Link Control Panel. In the tab "Settings"
you will find the location of the settings file.
Close the debug session and open the settings file with a text editor. Add the following
lines to the file:
[CFI]
CFISize =
CFIAddr =
[GENERAL]
WorkRAMSize =
WorkRAMAddr =
After this the file should look similar to the sample in the following screenshot.
