Aufruf einer von Untis bereit gestellten Exportschnittstelle.
Aufgrund der kurzen Aktualisierungsintervalle
ist TimeConnector in der Lage, auch kurzfristige
Änderungen in der Stunden- und Vertretungsplanung
zeitnah zu erkennen und in die
Zeitschaltprogramme einfließen zu lassen. Auf
diese Weise trägt die Software der Firma WSW
Solutions dazu bei, die ehrgeizigen Ziele des
Energiespar-Contractings zu erreichen.
The roots of the Traunstein vocational school
reach back to the year 1866. However,
the building, where during the school year
2011 / 2012 2.397 students in 111 classes were
educated by 75 teachers, is significantly younger.
The foundation of the educational center, located
on Wasserburger Straße and currently housing
four faculties (Constructional Engineering / Wood
Technology / Colour Technology, Electrical technology
/ IT, Metal Work, Nutrition / Gastronomy),
was laid in 1975.
In 2011, the administrative district of Traunstein,
as the operating institution of the school,
entered into an energy savings contract with
Siemens in order to renovate the building for
energetic efficiency. During the course of the
year, several measures were undertaken to
reduce energy consumption. In addition to
system components, control technology was
renewed and cross-linked single room controllers
were installed.
Connection between timetable software and
BACnet controllers
To tap the full potential of single room control,
it is necessary for the room controllers to know
when the room is being used. The project leaders
soon realized that manual time recording was
not feasible. Also the standard practice – to heat
all rooms during the school´s operating hours –
was out of the question, because it would not
allow for the ambitious energy savings goals to
be achieved. Since the school uses the software
Untis to plan their class schedules, all information
about the usage of individual rooms was
basically already available. All that was needed
was to establish a connection between the timetable
software and the BACnet controllers.
Looking for a solution, the project managers of
Siemens discovered the company WSW
Solutions and its product TimeConnector, which
could already process time data from Microsoft

Mit den Daten aus der Stundenplansoftware Untis berechnet TimeConnector für
jedes Klassenzimmer ein optimiertes Zeitschaltprogramm.
With the data of the timetable software Untis, TimeConnector calculates an
optimized scheduling program for each classroom.
Outlook, Google Calendar and Yahoo! Calendar
appropriately. WSW Solutions realized the
potential of an interface with a timetable system
and extended their software accordingly,
with the support of Untis manufacturer Gruber
& Petters.
And this is how the interaction works
Like before, the school plans and maintains their
class schedules with the timetable software
Untis. TimeConnector keeps a copy of the room
assignments in its database. Based on these
data, the software continuously calculates an
optimized scheduling program for each classroom
and transmits it to the respective single
room controller. The local database is updated
automatically by cyclic calls to an export interface
offered by Untis.
Due to the short update intervals, TimeConnector
is able to recognize even last minute
changes to the planning of classes and substitute
teaching and to respect them in its computation
of the scheduling programs. In this way
the software of WSW Solutions helps to achieve
the ambitious results of the energy saving contract.
