Who: Mobilization Branch Personnel.<br />

What: Action Officer Development Course.<br />

Purpose: Understand the functions of an Action Officer.<br />

Summary:<br />

‣ All civilians (Ms. Monica Perez, Mr. Charles Crossley and<br />

Ms. Jasmine Fields) successfully completed the Action Officer<br />

Development Course this year as part of the <strong>Army</strong> Civilian<br />

Education System (CES) Courses available online through the<br />

<strong>Army</strong> Distributed Learning Program.<br />

‣ An Action Officer is a staff member with subject matter<br />

expertise who "works actions" on behalf of senior staff officers<br />

or commanders. The term “Action Officer" does not refer to a<br />

duty position. This course described "staff work" as it is<br />

generally practiced <strong>Army</strong>-Wide.<br />

End State: The successfully completion of this course has<br />

given these personnel a better understanding of the functions<br />

of an Action Officer in organization and management<br />

techniques, communication skills, preparing and staffing<br />

documents, conducting meetings and interviews, problem<br />

solving, time management, effective writing, coordinating<br />

activities, and professional ethics.
