Add Operators<br />

To add constants to a formula:<br />

1. Open the Formula Editor by right-clicking a column name in the data table and selecting Formula.<br />

2. Select a box in the formula editing area by clicking it. (It is selected when there is a red outline around<br />

it.)<br />

3. Either type in a number or click the menu at the top of the formula element browser and select<br />

Constants, as shown in Figure 7.3. Then click a value in the list that appears: 0, 1, 2, -1, pi, e. The<br />

value appears in the outlined box.<br />

4. Complete the remainder of the formula using the keypad and functions. (See “Reference Columns and<br />

Table Variables” on page 206, “Add Operators” on page 210, and “Use Functions” on page 211.)<br />

Add Operators<br />

You can add operators to a formula using the keypad, which contains buttons that help build formulas. It<br />

includes common operators (also referred to as functions).<br />

To build a formula using keypad operators:<br />

1. Open the Formula Editor by right-clicking a column name in the data table and selecting Formula.<br />

2. Select a box in the formula editing area by clicking it. (It is selected when there is a red outline around<br />

it.) The operator performs its action on the area that is highlighted.<br />

3. Select the column or variable that you want to use in your formula.<br />

4. Click the keypad button(s).
