Add Reference Lines<br />

To add references lines to graphs, proceed as follows:<br />

1. Double-click a numeric axis. Or, right-click a numeric axis and select Axis Settings. The Axis<br />

Specification window appears.<br />

2. In the text box to the left of the Add button, type the value to which you want the reference line to<br />

correspond. This is the position on the graph at which the line is placed.<br />

3. Further customize the reference line by choosing either of these options:<br />

Click the Color bar and select a color.<br />

Click the line next to Line Style and select one of the line types.<br />

4. Click the Add button. The value moves into the box to the right of the Add button, indicating that it<br />

will be placed on the graph.<br />

5. To add more lines, repeat the above steps.<br />

To set a default reference line for a variable, which avoids making this change every time you run an analysis,<br />

see “Axis” on page 155 in the “Set Column Properties” chapter.<br />

Add Geographical Images and Boundaries<br />

Adding map images and political boundaries to graphs provides visual context to geospatial data. For<br />

example, you can add a map to the graph that displays an image of the U.S. Another option is displaying the<br />

boundaries for each state (when data includes the latitudes and longitudes for the U.S.).
