LOAD A CASSETTE<br />

First press PUSH-OPEN and open the LCD monitor<br />

fully.<br />

Slide OPEN/EJECT in the direction of the arrow, then<br />

swing the cassette cover open until it locks. The<br />

holder opens automatically.<br />

Insert a tape and press “PUSH HERE” to close the<br />

cassette holder.<br />

SELECT OPERATION MODE<br />

Set the Power Switch to “ ” while pressing down<br />

the Lock Button located on the switch. The power<br />

lamp lights.<br />

PLAY BACK<br />

Press PLAY/PAUSE (6/4). The playback picture<br />

appears.<br />

STOP PLAYBACK<br />

Press STOP (5).<br />

Rewind or Fast-forward the tape<br />

Press REW (2) to rewind, or FF (3) to fast-forward the<br />

tape during Stop mode.<br />

NOTES:<br />

● If Stop mode continues for 5 minutes when the power<br />

supply is a battery pack, the camcorder shuts off automatically.<br />

To turn on again, set the Power Switch to “OFF”, then<br />

to “ ”.<br />

● The playback picture can also be viewed in the viewfinder<br />

(with the viewfinder pulled out) or on a connected TV<br />

( pg. 48, 49). Camcorder operation is the same as<br />

described in this section.<br />

● You can also view the playback picture on the LCD monitor<br />

with it flipped over and retracted.<br />

● LCD monitor/viewfinder indications:<br />

• When power is supplied from the battery pack: the<br />

“ ” battery pack remaining power indicator is<br />

displayed on the LCD monitor when it is turned on.<br />

When power is supplied through the DC cord: “ ”<br />

does not appear.<br />

• During Stop mode, none of the indications are displayed<br />

in the viewfinder.<br />

● Copy guarded tapes cannot be played back. The screen<br />

becomes blue back.<br />

Speaker (or Headphones) Volume Control<br />

You can adjust the speaker (or headphones connected to<br />

the headphones connector) volume by pushing the Power<br />

Zoom Lever.<br />

ADJUST VOLUME<br />

If you want to turn up the volume . . .<br />

.... push the Power Zoom Lever (VOL.) towards “+”.<br />

If you want to turn down the volume . . .<br />

.... push the Power Zoom Lever (VOL.) towards “–”.
