No such solutions can be found <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> market yet, however. Accord<strong>in</strong>g to Kabbaj, <strong>the</strong><br />

semantic web technologies based DP solutions can be expected to be deployed <strong>in</strong> five to<br />

eight years (cf. Kabbaj 2003).<br />

Scope <strong>and</strong> focus of DP services<br />

The follow<strong>in</strong>g Exhibit provides a selection of <strong>the</strong> tour operators <strong>and</strong> onl<strong>in</strong>e travel agencies<br />

<strong>in</strong> Europe offer<strong>in</strong>g DP services. These providers can be regarded as real DP providers as<br />

<strong>the</strong>ir modules are dynamically (<strong>in</strong> chronological order <strong>and</strong> with regard to places,<br />

dest<strong>in</strong>ations <strong>and</strong> prices) <strong>in</strong>terrelated <strong>and</strong> because <strong>the</strong>y provide real-time availability-check<br />

<strong>and</strong> <strong>in</strong>stant book<strong>in</strong>g/transaction functionalities.<br />

Although many travel/<strong>tourism</strong> websites (e.g. Ryanair, Accor) provide multiple travel components<br />

beyond <strong>the</strong>ir core services, <strong>the</strong>y cannot be regarded as dynamic packag<strong>in</strong>g websites as <strong>the</strong>re is<br />

no dynamic packag<strong>in</strong>g functionality that enables consumer to simultaneously search <strong>and</strong> book<br />

multiple travel components, to one travel package, on one s<strong>in</strong>gle website, <strong>and</strong> to obta<strong>in</strong> one<br />

total package-price respectively.<br />
