(iv)Forest Reserve benefits and Regulations: The responses on forest benefit were not as detailed as expected, this may be due to little knowledge of what would occur in the absence of the forest, rather than due to lack of appreciation for the present forest. The forestry officers were very clear on the regulations regarding purchase or extraction of forestry products. Villagers were also aware of the regulations safeguarding forest products exploitation. However, a few villagers appeared to be unclear of the forest rules and regulations There is probably a communication problem between the two parties, users and caretakers.
