Remove neutral clutch key from case. If key is tight, it<br />

can be tapped out through hole in bottom of case.<br />

Remove low band from transmission case as follows:<br />

Unhook band end from case anchor located inside of case.<br />

With band unhooked, rotate band to horizontal position<br />

in transmission case.<br />

Turn band so that band ends are facing rear of transmission<br />

case and pull out through front of case Fig. 58)<br />

INSIDE DETENT AND THROTTLE<br />

LEVER REMOVAL<br />

NOTE: Normally these parts should not be removed<br />

unless they are to be replaced.<br />

Remove outer shift lever from detent lever shaft.<br />

Remove snap ring from detent lever shaft (Fig 59).<br />

Rotate detent lever to position which would engage<br />

parking pawl so that detent lever will clear the parking<br />

bracket assembly. Then remove detent lever, throttle lever
