7-19 Replacing the Flat Target Solenoid 1. Remove the Flat Target Assy. (See section 7-18 page 77) 2. Remove the pozi flange head screw (M4x6) to release the nylon clip retaining the harness coming from connector (CN20). Remove 4off flange socket head screws (M5x8) and remove the ring tag and Flat Target Solenoid. Page 78
4. To remove the solenoid plunger, remove one of the E-Clips and flat washer (M6). Withdraw the Solenoid Shaft releasing the spacers and spring. Reassemble in the reverse order Note: When refitting the solenoid plunger ensure that the spring hook is in contact with the side of the spring spacer. Arm Shaft Spacer E-Clip Spring Hook Solenoid Spring E-Clip Spring Spacer Note: After replacing the Flat Target solenoid, it is recommended that a good quality Silicone Grease is applied to the solenoid shaft and to the supports for the solenoid spring.
