BASELINE SPATIAL HIERARCHY SUMMARY 62 6.6 Feature Areas A feature area for the purposes of this public realm strategy is defined as the use of the public realm to enhance the setting of existing historic corner buildings. • There will be two feature areas within the City Centre. The first shall be the Percy/Tontine Street junction (1); the second feature area occurs at the Piccadilly/Brunswick/Cheapside junction (2). Key views towards these buildings should be maintained. Historic frontages should be sympathetically illuminated. The paving design should provide an attractive and distinctive threshold. Paving inscriptions of Arnold Bennett quotes could be appropriate due to the location of Webberleys book shop.
