Natsiaq: This is the name for a baby seal during its first month of life in<br />

April.<br />

Qavauq: Baby seal with lots of fat on its body.<br />

Tanniq: Fur is changing and there is hardly any fur around the eyes.<br />

Nasaiqtuq / Natsiarajaaq: The baby fur is shedding and the fur on its head<br />

has changed to adult fur.<br />

Sanirarulliq: The fur has changed to adult fur except for the sides of the<br />

body, which are still covered with baby fur.<br />

Sunamirniq: All signs of baby fur are gone.<br />

Caribou calves:<br />

Illauq: Foetus.<br />

Nurralaaq: At birth, the fur is blackish and called qirnirujuk.<br />

Aupallattuq: When it turns kind of brown.<br />

Qakuallaliqtuq or Qujjurujuk: When the fur is getting ready for winter.<br />
