When did you move to Pangniqtuuq?<br />

Saullu: In 1984.<br />

Where did you grow up as a child?<br />

Saullu: I became aware at Qimmiqsuuq. I probably grew up in Qimmiqsuuq. We moved<br />

to Qipisa from Qimmiqsuuq after camping at another place.<br />

Where was your camp?<br />

Saullu: We camped at Itilliavik before moving to Qipisa.<br />

What did you enjoy doing as a child?<br />

Saullu: I most enjoyed qitinniq (playing). It was a lot of fun when we were playing. I<br />

most enjoyed anau- (baseball).<br />

What’s qitik-?<br />

Saullu: Such as when we were playing outside, amaruujaq and others.<br />

Were you born after there were already qallunaat?<br />

Saullu: Yes, my father was a qallunaaq.<br />

Did you know who your qallunaaq father was?<br />

Saullu: Jason was my father’s father. Jason was my father’s father, maybe a Scotsman.<br />

As a youth, did you ever work?<br />

Saullu: Only when we were residing in Pangniqtuuq. I started working in Pangniqtuuq<br />

as a sewing instructor.<br />

Your parent’s parents, did you know them?<br />

Saullu: Yes, my mother’s father was Kulluruqtuq. My mother’s mother was<br />

Taunguliqtuq. My father’s father was Jason and my father’s mother was Sikuliaq.<br />
