52-acre site formerly used by NTC and MCRD from the 1940s to<br />

1971 as a municipal landfill for consumer waste, burn ash, and<br />

construction debris. The landfill site has been remediated and is<br />

currently being redeveloped as part of the Green Build at SDIA.<br />

2-acre site formerly used as a rental car facility and contained<br />

USTs. The buildings and tanks have been removed and the site is<br />

now covered by an asphalt roadway and parking lot. Residual<br />

soil/groundwater contamination remains in place.<br />

5-acre site formerly used until 1995 as a fuel storage facility for<br />

jet fuel, av-gas and motor vehicle fuel. The tanks have been<br />

removed and the site is presently occupied with a one story office<br />

building and adjoining asphalt parking lot. Residual<br />

soil/groundwater contamination remains in place.<br />

4-acre site formally occupied by an aircraft/GSE maintenance<br />

facility. Now covered with asphalt and concrete apron, the<br />

residual soil and groundwater contamination is not reported to<br />

be significant.<br />

Also known as the former Northrop Grumman Corp. and Ryan<br />

Aeronautical Company facility, this 47-acre site is undergoing<br />

remediation.<br />

6. <strong>Airport</strong> Fuel Farm N. central sector<br />

of airport.<br />

Site of the existing <strong>Airport</strong> fuel farm. Contains two 1 milliongallon<br />

aboveground storage tanks for jet fuel. No reported<br />

environmental contamination or significant leaks.<br />

This 3-acre site was used until 1987 for live-fire training. Now<br />

covered with dirt or asphalt, the extent of residual<br />

soil/groundwater contamination (if any) is unknown.<br />

90-acre site formerly used for manufacturing of aircraft and other<br />

military equipment. Presently vacant and serves as a staging area<br />

for unloading trucks and parking cars. Chemicals of concern<br />

include chlorinated hydrocarbons, petroleum hydrocarbons and<br />

chromium. Designated for “open field” land-uses.<br />

9. Jimsair UST S.E. of Site No. 8 UST associated with an existing FBO.<br />
