Chapter7
Resources are essential. The most obvious
resources are funding, people, and physical
assets, such as property and equipment. But
given a dynamic economic and social
environment, they increasingly are
intangible—time, intellectual property,
information, access, relationships, and
community support. A high-performance
partnership must obtain adequate resources to
achieve its mission. Generally, the broader the
resource base, the more stable the partnership.
Conversely, partnerships dependent on a
single funding source are vulnerable to that
funder’s stability and influence.
