the Railside Warehouse Complex, alongwith MD, CRWC in Bangalore recently.

Warehouse Company Ltd.,
provides Multi - Modal
Logistics to the trade and support
Indian Economy in reducing
logistics cost. CRWC is presently
operating Railside Warehousing
Complexes across the country.
The Union Minister of State for
Consumer Affairs, Food & Public
Distribution, Prof. K. V. Thomas
visited its Railside Warehouse
Complex situated at Whitefield
Bangalore. This Railside Warehouse
Complex has total capacity
of 29,700 MT and land area
of 24,034 sq.mtrs. was started
in Phase-I in 2002 & Phase-II in
2006 as a major rail route warehouse
complex, which receives
cargo, mainly cement and fertilisers.
The complex receives
and handle about 2500 wagons
per month. Parcel/Express cargo
trains also operate from here. The
special trains carry aggregated
clean cargo i.e. mixed goods,
Whitegoods, garments, coconut
products, chocolates, automobile
tyres, spices from this terminal to
various destinations and in return,
goods like tea, electronic goods,
etc. are brought back by the parcel
train. The RWC, Whitefield has
been a successful model in field of
Logistics.
The Minister while interacting
with the users and customers at
the complex, suggested to MD/
CRWC for mechanisation and
modernization of the entire handling
process. He appreciated
the good work of CRWC especially
with respect to pilot project
of Conveyor belt operation in
Warehouse. He instructed that
welfare of the labourers like water,
toilet, canteen, shelter, etc. should
be taken special care. As they are
handling cement, assistance in
form of medical help may also be
considered by CRWC.
Dr. B.P. Sharma
assumes charge as Airport Director,
Airports Authority of India,
NSCBI Airport-Kolkata.
Mr. P. S. R. K. Sudhakar
is appointed Regional Executive Director,
AAI (North- Easern Region)
Mr. Suddhasawata Bhaduri
takes over as Regional Executive Director,
AAI (Eastern Region)
