Building - UCIL’s Key to Success

Background
Our experiences in UCIL have
shown that well structured skill
development & capacity building
programs catering to site-specific
domains; are the best models for
facilitating knowledge transfer
in different environments. This
is only possible by assisting employees
and community stakeholders
to attain necessary skills
for realization of best practices
and for stimulating a sustainable
development process.
Thus in our skill development
programs we constantly strive towards
increasing participation of
youth, women, tribals and other
disadvantaged sections in order
to cater to changing technologies
and market workforce demands.
Helping the needy through a
wide range of support, techniques
and initiatives to enable
them to meet their aims more effectively
is UCIL’s main objective
of capacity building training. Our
skill development and capacity
building training has adopted a
strategy which ranges from the
concept of “how to get there” to a
sustainability position of “how to
stay there”. By sharing ownership
in the process of development has
encouraged participation of our
stakeholders as they feel more
responsible for the outcome and
sustainability of the development.
This in turn helps us gauge which
areas require additional training,
which areas should be prioritized
and in what other ways capacity
building can be incorporated into
our developmental strategies.
