Enhancing Education
Keeping the challenges of the
modern times in mind a computer
training centre for the inmates
of Ayudham Society for children
and senior citizens was recently
inaugurated in Delhi. Extending
its corporate social responsibility,
Airport Authority of India recently
contributed 20 computers to
this training centre. The computer
training centre is designed to facilitate
basic computer skills for
the children. The centre will also
have the facility for accessing web
based information for elderly inmates
of the home.
Over the past few years CSR has
been deeply rooted within the
corporate values and corporate
culture of AAI. The CSR commitment
of AAI has brought
about decisions and activities
which are steady with sustainable
growth and the wellbeing
of society. CSR programme aims
to assist socially and economically
weaker or troubled sections
of society. AAI understands the
importance of PSUs in discharging
social obligations and immediately
attends to issues relating
to the needs of society. The public
sector has come to occupy a vital
position in our national economy.
It has taken over the important
role of strengthening country’s
economy by promoting balanced
development in different parts of
the country. Public sector plays
a decisive role in carrying out a
socio-economic remodeling of the
economy and hence the need to
establish public sector enterprises
has been recognized. Today,
the social and economic growth
largely depends on the performance
of PSUs. Public sector is
considered a leading instrument
of economic development and
an important tool of self-reliance.
The field of CSR is still evolving.
AAI has made a good beginning
in serving and supporting social
needs. However, bigger the challenges
greater will be the bonds
that strengthen relationships with
the people.
CCI Signs MoU with Department of Heavy Industry
Cement Corporation of India
Limited (CCI) entered into a
Memorandum of Understanding
(MoU) for 2013-14 with Ministry
of Heavy Industries & Public
Enterprises. The MoU was signed
by Mr. R. P. Tak, CMD, CCI and
Mr. M.F. Farooqui, the then
Secretary, DHI in the presence
of Mr. Harbhajan Singh, Joint
Secretary, Mr. S.S. Mahlawat, Dy.
Secretary of DHI and Mr. Manoj
Misra, Director (HR), CCI.
